Experience

Michelle has been practising exclusively in family law since 1996. Michelle practiced Family Law and Children’s Law in Canberra, Sydney and in London before relocating to Darwin in February 2006.

Michelle has a wealth of experience in the carriage of complex property matters involving family companies, family trusts and intricate tax minimisation structures.

Michelle represents children, parents and grandparents in the Family Court, Federal Magistrates Court and the Family Matters Court.

Michelle is an experienced advocate and regularly conducts trials in the Family Court, Federal Magistrates Court and the Local Court.

Qualifications & Memberships

• Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University
• Admitted as a legal practitioner in February 1997.
• Accredited as a Specialist in Family Law by the New South Wales Law Society
• Member of the Family Law Council of Australia since 1997.
• Chair of the Law Society of the Northern Territory’s Family Law Committee
• Member of the Law Society of the Northern Territory’s Ethics Committee
• Northern Territory Representative of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia
