Experience

Tim has lived most of his life in Darwin, completing his primary and secondary education at local schools. He spent five years in Melbourne from 1983 to 1987 whilst obtaining his degrees, returning to Darwin in 1988 to undertake articles of clerkship.

After admission to practice, Tim embarked on a ten year career in Government practice, culminating in his appointment as Director of the Commercial Law Division of the Attorney-General’s Department, a position he held from 1997 until his resignation to take up private practice with Ward Keller in 1999.

Tim practises exclusively as a commercial lawyer. He became a partner of Ward Keller on 1 July 2001, and has been Managing Partner since May 2007.

Some of Tim's major clients include Great Southern Limited, Delfin Lend Lease Limited, the Toga Group, and the Department of Corporate and Information Services.

Tim is a former member of the Council of the Law Society of the Northern Territory and is a former chairperson of the Commercial Lawyers’ Committee of the Law Society. He is the legal adviser to the Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) National Park Board of Management.

  • Admitted as a Legal Practitioner in the Northern Territory (1989)
