Anke Nagel ran her own migration agency in Alice Springs for 10 years before joining the Ward Keller team in July 2019.
‘As the business owner, I found I was spending more time managing the business than on what I love to do, which is the actual migration work.
‘Now, with Ward Keller, I have a competent and professional support team and get to do more of the work I love’, she said.
Anke is originally from Germany and moved to northern Belgium as a child. She came to Alice Springs in 1990.
‘I travelled to Alice as a tourist on a ‘bucket list’ trip, and I met my future husband here so stayed’, she said.
After 10 years with the NT Tourist Commission, Anke took maternity leave then decided to study migration law. She now helps clients with skilled worker applications, employers sponsoring people to come to Alice and even with similar love stories to her own.
‘Alice Springs is a very transient, cosmopolitan population, and we have lots of migrants here from nearly every continent—the UK and Ireland, Europe, southern and central Africa, the Philippines, America and India’, she said.
Anke loves living and working in Alice Springs. ‘It’s a great community here with a great community spirit’, she said. ‘Coming to Ward Keller was one of the best decisions in my life. I find them extremely professional, friendly and helpful.’
In her down time, Anke loves making greeting cards, reading and camping with her family.
