David Qin

Senior Lawyer, Darwin

David Qin started his legal career in Adelaide, where he graduated from university with degrees in both law and accounting. He worked as a clerk at Finlaysons lawyers before moving to Darwin, where he worked at another firm for six years.

David joined Ward Keller in January 2020. He works in the firm’s commercial area.

‘Matters like buying and selling businesses, property law matters and liquor licensing applications so far’, said David, who was born in southern China and moved to Australia in 2006.

David says Ward Keller is a great place to work. ‘The people are friendly, and there’s an open-door policy here—whenever you have a question, you’re free to ask it.

‘It’s relaxed but fast-paced too, which seems contradictory, but it’s a great environment’, he said. ‘The firm is busy and has a lot of work to do, but everyone is friendly and accommodating too.’

Basketball is David’s thing outside work. ‘I suck at it, but I love it!’ he said. He also loves to travel. ‘Darwin really is the gateway to Asia, so when I have a chance to go overseas, I take it!’
