Jermaine Daet

Graduate Law Clerk

Jermaine joined Ward Keller in May 2024 after completing her studies in Melbourne. Having grown up in Alice Springs before moving to Darwin in year 9, where she attended Essington School. Jermaine returned to Darwin after her stint in Melbourne to be closer to her family. After completing her degree in 2024, Jermaine is now pursuing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice while gaining hands-on experience at the firm.

Currently working within the litigation team, Jermaine works with the family law team, where she assists with drafting applications for consent orders, preparing affidavits, filing, and conducting legal research. Jermaine also works closely with the medical negligence team, providing assistance with research, and reading medical and expert reports. She collaborates closely with senior lawyers, including James Stuchbery, Michelle Jeffrey, and James Bowyer, and values the opportunity to learn from their expertise. She loves working in the litigation team, describing them as wonderful, and appreciates that no two days are the same. Jermaine is dedicated to expanding her legal knowledge and refining her skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Outside of work, Jermaine has a creative side that stems from her musical upbringingā€”her father is a piano teacher, and she continues to play piano in her free time. In addition to her musical interests, she enjoys staying active, particularly through running. Her balance of creativity and discipline makes her a versatile and focused member of the Ward Keller team.
