Krshna Capaque joined Ward Keller as a legal secretary in May 2017 within the commercial and migration practice of the firm while she was completing her Bachelor of Laws. She graduated from Charles Darwin University in August 2020 and commenced her GDLP in February 2021.
While completing her GDLP, she assisted on various matters including commercial transactions, debt recovery, litigation, estate planning, and migration.
Admitted in August 2021, Krshna now works in the commercial and migration practice of the firm. “My experience in the area and the mentorship I received there while working as a secretary inspired me to begin my legal career with the commercial and migration team,” says Krshna, who was born in the Philippines and came to Darwin with her family in 2007. “I am looking forward to being able to help other families like mine settle and call Australia their home.”
Outside work, Krshna volunteers for Multicultural Youth NT (MyNT), a youth organisation which aims to empower young people from different backgrounds to gain leadership skills and give them a voice to address issues that affect them.
Given the opportunity, Krshna enjoys travelling and critically reviewing her favourite TV shows.
