Raine Kinna joined Ward Keller as a Law Clerk in February 2024 and is in her second year of a Bachelor of Laws degree at Charles Darwin University.

‘I mainly help out in the commercial law area, but I also get to dabble in migration law as well,’ said Raine. ‘It’s all so interesting, and getting to experience so many areas of law has been the best part.’

Raine helps the firm’s lawyers and support teams with drafting documents, conducting legal research and any other admin jobs as needed.

Born and raised in Darwin, Raine went straight into uni after finishing year 12. ‘Law is what I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember,’ she said. ‘I don’t remember wanting to do anything else growing up. It’s always been a passion.’

Raine said the Ward Keller team is fantastic. ‘They’re all very hands on and love to share the work around,’ she said. ‘Everyone is great at explaining things too, which makes learning so much easier and really enjoyable.’

On her hobbies, Raine said she doesn’t have much free time for those at the moment. ‘My life is pretty well consumed with university and work right now,’ she said, ‘but we live rurally and do Wildcare as a family, so I love spending time with all the animals whenever I can.’
