Pearl Pearse traded early morning starts as a baker to join Ward Keller’s administration and reception team in Darwin in March 2022.

‘I was looking for a new challenge, and after 7 years, I was getting sick of waking up so early!’ said Pearl, who’s also worked in hospitality. Pearl was born in Darwin and has lived here most of her life, bar a few years when her family moved to Brisbane.

Pearl is enjoying her new workplace.

‘It’s really good here at Ward Keller – everyone’s lovely and helpful,’ she said. ‘Being a new career for me, I don’t have the strong admin background, but everyone’s been so helpful in teaching me the ropes.

‘I particularly enjoy the fast pace,’ she said. ‘It’s what I’m used to, and I love it when things get busy and there are deadlines to meet.’

In her free time, Pearl still loves to bake at home for her friends and family.
