Upcoming changes to the Working Holiday Maker Visa Programs
The Hon Alex Hawke MP announced yesterday of upcoming changes to the Working Holiday Maker programs to support tourism and hospitality sectors.
The changes will include:
From 1 July 2021, Working Holiday Makers who were unable to come to Australia or had to leave early because of COVID-19 will be able to apply for a free replacement visa.
Starting March 2022, if you make an application for a second or third Working Holiday visa, you will be able to count work in the tourism and hospitality sectors in the Northern Territory, or remote or very remote areas of Australia.
From March 2022, eligible current and former Working Holiday Makers in Australia will also be able to apply for a free replacement Working Holiday visa.
Former Working Holiday Makers visa holders who have since applied for another visa, such as the COVID-19 Pandemic Event visa, may also be eligible to apply for a free replacement Working Holiday visa.
